October 30, 2020 November is Telework Month

The Telework Promotion Forum, organized in November 2005 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), has set November for Telework Month since 2015. Accordingly, these organizations have been intensively conducting public relations activities to promote the spread of telework.

MIC selects and commends companies that are making pioneering efforts in telework, exhibits at private exhibition events, and introduces telework during Telework Month in cooperation with the ministries and organizations concerned. MIC will intensively hold seminars for companies as well. In light of the outbreak of the new coronavirus infection, teleworking, which enables business continuity while reducing contact between people, has become more important than ever from the perspective of preventing the spread of infection and balancing economic activities. MIC will take the opportunity of Telework Month to promote all workers nationwide to utilize telework actively.
Besides, as one of the efforts for Telework Month, MIC, in collaboration with the Cabinet Secretariat and the Cabinet Office as well as MHLW, METI, and MLIT, will request the cooperation of each prefecture, ordinance-designated city, and economic organization in Telework Month.
The Telework Promotion Forum is looking for individuals and companies to conduct activities related to telework for Telework Month. Please use the Telework Month logo and posters distributed on the Telework Month website below to participate in Telework Month activities. Furthermore, if a company registers its activities through the Telework Month website, the company name will appear on the website with details of the efforts. The Telework Promotion Forum is looking forward to companies’ active registration.
