November 13, 2020 Announcement of Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (FY2020 Second Revision)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has completed the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (the FY2020 second revision) to smoothly and steadily implement the reorganization of frequencies.
Before completing this, MIC made an appeal for opinions from Thursday, September 10 through Friday, October 9, 2020, on a draft of the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan. As a result, MIC received 52 opinions. Accordingly, MIC has decided to announce these opinions along with MIC’s views on the opinions.

1. Background and purpose

MIC made a Frequency Reorganization Action Plan in 2004 for the first time. Since then, MIC has been publishing a revised version annually to show MIC’s efforts to follow up on the smooth and steady reorganization of specific frequencies based on the evaluation results of surveys on the state of radio wave use.
With consideration of the results of the appeal for opinions on the draft of the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (the FY2020 second revision), MIC has reviewed and completed the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan.

MIC formulated the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (the FY2020 Second Revision).

3. Results of appeal for opinions

MIC will post the opinions submitted for the draft revision of the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (the FY2020 Second Revision) with MIC’s views on the opinions on the public comment page of the e-Gov ( https://www.e-gov.go.jp/en/ Open a new window).

4. Future plans

MIC will take concrete measures for the reorganization of each frequency segment.
Furthermore, MIC will review the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan every year based on the evaluation results of a survey on radio wave usage.
