November 16, 2020 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Fourth Draft Report from IP Network Facilities Subcommittee of the Department on Information and Communications Technology under the Information and Communications Council and Release of Fourth Report

Technical requirements for telecommunications facilities in response to the spread of IoT as a part of technical requirements for telecommunications facilities corresponding to the switchover of networks to IP

The IP Network Facilities Subcommittee (Chief Investigator: AIDA Hitoshi, Vice President and Professor at Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo) of the Department on Information and Communications Technology under the Information and Communications Council made an appeal for opinions on Fourth Draft Report on technical requirements for telecommunications facilities in response to the spread of IoT from Friday, October 2, through Wednesday, November 4. These requirements are a part of technical requirements for telecommunications facilities corresponding to the switchover of networks to IP (Inquiry No. 2020 of October 31, 2005).
As a result, eight opinions were submitted. Accordingly, the Subcommittee has decided to open the submitted opinions and the Subcommittee’s views on the opinions to the public, along with the finished Fourth Report.

With consideration of the result of the appeal for opinions, the Department on Information and Communications Technology (chaired by NISHIO Shojiro, President of Osaka University) under the Information and Communications Council will deliberate this matter at its next meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
