November 30, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Notice Specifying Range of Available Frequencies for Specified Experimental Stations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) decided to review the range of available frequencies and pertinent conditions for specified experimental stations according to Article 7, Item (v) of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act (Radio Regulatory Commission Rules No. 14 of 1950) and drafted a notice. Accordingly, MIC will make an appeal for opinions on the draft from Tuesday, December 1 through Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

1. Overview

A study subcommittee on utilization measures for broadcast frequencies (hereafter referred to as the “Frequency Subcommittee”) issued a report entitled Summary of V-High Band Utilization Measures in April 2019. In response to the fact that a policy to extend the demonstration period was announced at the Frequency Subcommittee’s meeting held on Friday, November 27, 2020, MIC has prepared a draft notice and decided to make this appeal for opinions.
