December 14, 2020 ICT Innovation Forum 2020

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold the ICT Innovation Forum 2020. This international event will introduce the results of research and development (R & D) issues completed in the previous fiscal year and R & D trends to create innovation that will open up the future by utilizing the R & D results.

1. Purpose

MIC is strategically promoting research and development in the information and communications field to meet socio-economic needs and realize innovation.
Among the R & D promoted by MIC, this forum will exhibit the results of the R & D of ICT priority technology^*1 and those under the Strategic Information and Communications R&D Promotion Programme (SCOPE)^*2. By doing so, we aim to promote the utilization and social implementation of them.

  R & D of ICT priority technology: A project in which MIC sets R & D issues to be prioritized and entrusts them to private companies, universities, and other research institutes to promote R & D.
• *2.
  Strategic Information and Communications R&D Promotion Programme (SCOPE): A competitive fund for R & D in the ICT field and is a project that outsources the R & D of issues rich in originality and novelty to create innovation in the ICT field.
