December 23, 2020 Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Ministerial Ordinance for Partial Revision of Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act and Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from Thursday, October 1 through Monday, November 2, 2020, on a draft ministerial ordinance to partially revise the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act. However, no opinions were submitted.

1. Overview of revision

MIC intends to make institutional development for the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 25 of 1985) and the Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 46 of 1988). This decision has been made in response to recent partial revisions to the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act and pertinent conditions toward the introduction of 5G to existing 4G frequency bands and the expansion of local 5G frequencies in use.

2. Results of appeal for opinions

MIC made an appeal for opinions from Thursday, October 1 through Monday, November 2, 2020, on a draft ministerial ordinance to partially revise the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act. However, no opinions were submitted.

3. Promulgation of MIC ordinance

MIC has today promulgated the ordinance.
