December 25, 2020 Interim Summary Report Issued by the Roundtable Conference on Digital Utilization in the Post-corona Era

The Roundtable Conference on Digital Utilization in the Post-corona Era has recently issued an interim summary report. Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will open the interim summary report to the public.

1. Overview

With the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) that has continued since the beginning of 2020, there has been a rapid increase in public awareness and expectations for the utilization of digital services that enable non-contact and non-face-to-face workstyles. Accordingly, MIC organized the Roundtable Conference on Digital Utilization in the Post-corona Era (Chaired by Jun Murai, Professor, Keio University) on October 23, 2020. Since then, Roundtable Conference members have been studying the ideal way of digital utilization for the “post-corona” era from the viewpoint of establishing new daily life and realizing economic revitalization and regional revitalization, with a medium- to a long-term perspective in mind.
The Roundtable Conference has summarized its members’ discussions into the interim summary report, and MIC has decided to open the same to the public.
