February 4, 2020 Appeal for Researchers Involved in International Standardization Organizations and Bodies

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to invite researchers involved in standardization activities in international standardization organizations and bodies through contractors.

International standardization has the important role of ensuring the interoperability of communication devices and networks by establishing standards for networks and services, as well as creating global markets and enhancing international competitiveness. Furthermore, in international standardization activities, in addition to the standardization activities of de jure standardization organizations, such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), those of various private-sector-led forums have been proactive. It is important to strategically promote international standardization while appropriately grasping the trends of standardization.
With consideration of the situation, MIC plans to dispatch researchers (such as those who lead international standardization, implement international standardization proposals, and formulate standardization strategies) to standardization-related meetings of international standardization organizations in fiscal 2020. Accordingly, MIC will start this appeal through contractors for researchers involved in standardization activities in international standardization organizations and bodies.
