Provision of Wholesale Telecommunications Services to Japan Communication Inc. from NTT Docomo, Inc.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today made an inquiry based on Article 160, Item 1 of the Telecommunications Business Act (Act No. 86 of 1984) to the Telecommunications Dispute Resolution Committee regarding a ruling filed by Japan Communication Inc. based on Article 35, Paragraph 3 of the Act.

4. Content of inquiry

With regard to the provision of telecommunications services to Japan Communication Inc. from NTT Docomo, Inc, Japan Communication Inc. filed a ruling with the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications based on the provisions of Article 35, Paragraph 3 of the Telecommunications Business Act to be applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 39 of the Act. According to Japan Communication Inc., its negotiation with NTT Docomo is in an improper condition.
After examining the application, MIC has today made an inquiry based on Article 160, Item 1 the Act to the Telecommunications Dispute Resolution Committee.

2. Future plans

MIC will make a ruling after receiving a report from the Telecommunications Dispute Resolution Committee.
