Technical Requirements for Upgrading VHF Subscriber Radio Systems as Part of Technical Requirements for Upgrading of Commercial Land Radiocommunication Systems
The Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee (Chief Investigator: Makoto Ando, Professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology Graduate School of Science and Engineering), Department on Information and Communications Technology, Information and Communications Council, drafted a report on technical requirements for upgrading VHF subscriber radio systems. Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make an appeal for opinions from Saturday, February 8 through Tuesday, March 3, 2020, on the draft report as specified below.

2. Overview
The Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee of the Department on Information and Communications Technology under the Information and Communications Council started deliberating technical requirements for the upgrading of VHF subscriber radio systems as a part of technical requirements for the upgrading of commercial land mobile communications (Inquiry No. 2033 of May 17, 2013) in September 2019. Recently, the Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee drafted a report on the result of its deliberation in the past. Accordingly, MIC will make an appeal for opinions from Saturday, February 8 through Tuesday, March 3, 2020, on the draft report.
3. Submission deadline
No later than Tuesday, March 3, 2020 (Opinions, if submitted by mail, must arrive no later than the same day.)
4. Future plans
A final report will be compiled based on the results of the appeal for opinions.
