February 10, 2020 Holding Regional ICT Summit 2020

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) widely makes an appeal for case examples of ICT utilization based on autonomous creativity and ingenuity in each region to solve various issues in the region and revitalize the region through the use of ICT (information and communication technology). MIC gives ICT Regional Revitalization Awards to excellent case examples.
In this connection, MIC will hold the Regional ICT Summit 2020, including the finals for the awards and the awards ceremony.

1. Overview

In response to various issues facing each region, including aging and population decline, many excellent models have been created to link technologies, such as IoT, sensor, cloud, big data, and AI technologies, with local know-how to solve the issues for regional revitalization.
The Regional ICT Summit 2020 will include the presentations of organizations that have entered the finals of the ICT Regional Revitalization Awards 2020, along with on-site voting and screening of applicants and an awards ceremony for excellent ideas for which MIC made an appeal until January 15, 2020. Furthermore, a special lecture will be given to introduce efforts toward regional ICT revitalization.
