February 21, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Basic Plan on R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources for FY2020

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make an appeal from Saturday, February 22 through Friday, March 13, 2020, on a draft of a basic plan on research and development to be newly implemented in and after fiscal 2020.

1. Overview

MIC is conducting research and development (R & D) for expanding radio wave resources to reduce the tightness of frequencies and effectively use radio waves to respond to the expanding needs of radio waves.
Prior to making an appeal for proposals for seven new R & D projects to be newly implemented in and after fiscal 2020, MIC has widely invited opinions on the draft basic plan that describes the contents, technical issues, and goals R & D to be achieved.

2. Submission deadline

No later than Friday, March 13, 2020. Submission of opinions by mail must also arrive no later than the deadline date.

3. Future plans

MIC will formulate a basic plan based on the opinions received and will promptly make a public appeal for R & D proposals.
