February 28, 2020 Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Notice on Partial Revisions to Telecommunications Numbering Plan

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for a draft notice on partial revisions to the Telecommunications Numbering Plan.

1. Background and overview of institutional development

With consideration of the revision of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act (Telecommunications Technology Commission Inquiry No. 18 of 1950) based on the Ministerial Ordinance for Revisions to the Essential Standards for Establishing Radio Stations other than Broadcast Stations (MIC Ordinance No. 68 of 2019), the subject draft notice aims to revise the treatment of those who are licensed for local 5G base stations in the Telecommunications Numbering Plan (MIC Notification No. 6 of 2019). Furthermore, the draft notice will also aim to make other necessary changes.

2. Results of appeal for opinions

MIC made an appeal from Saturday, December 28, 2019 through Friday, January 31, 2020, for the draft notice on partial revisions to the Telecommunications Numbering Plan and received two opinions.

3. Future plans

MIC will promptly revise the notice based on the results of the appeal for opinions.
