March 3, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Guidelines on Privatization of Public Optical Fiber Cables and Related Equipment

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drafted guidelines for the privatization of public optical fiber cables and related equipment. Therefore, MIC has decided to make an appeal for opinions on the draft from Wednesday, March 4 through Thursday, April 2, 2020.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drafted guidelines for the privatization of public optical fiber cables and related equipment for the smooth transition of optical fiber cables and related equipment owned by local governments to the private sector. This draft shows the basic concept, how to proceed with consultation, and matters to be noted.

3. Future plans

MIC will determine the contents of the draft guidelines and make them public for the privatization of public optical fiber cables and related equipment with consideration of the results of the opinions.
