March 18, 2020 29th Central Emergency Communications Council Awards

The Central Emergency Communications Council (chaired by Yasuhiko Taniwaki, Director-General of the Telecommunications Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) has conferred the 29th Central Emergency Communications Council Awards on organizations which have made significant contributions to securing communications in the event of a disaster this year.

1. Overview

The Central Emergency Communications Council confers awards on individuals and organizations that have successfully implemented emergency communications, or operation of emergency communications councils, with the objective of ensuring the smooth emergency communications.
This fiscal year, a total of 22 organizations and individuals were conferred with awards. 20 organizations that made impressive contributions for the provision of information to related organizations concerning securing communications and disasters during typhoons 15 and 19 in 2019, and 2 individuals who contributed to the efforts of emergency communications councils.

NOTE - Regarding the ceremony for this year’s Central Emergency Communications Council Awards

With consideration of the purpose of the Basic Policy for Countermeasures against New Coronavirus Infections (February 25, 2020), this fiscal year’ award ceremony for the Central Emergency Communications Council Awards are postponed. The awards will be conferred separately on each awardee by the Emergency Communications Council Secretariat.
