March 19, 2020 Public Appeal Begins for Applications for Regional Demonstration Projects Under the Digital Utilization Supporters Promotion Project in FY2020

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make a public appeal from Thursday, March 19 through to Friday, May 15, 2020, for applications for Regional Demonstration Projects under the Digital Utilization Supporters Promotion Project in FY2020.

1. Project overview

The purpose of this demonstration project is to verify the systems that are required for continuous activities across the country in providing Digital Utilization Supporters who can easily help elderly people who live close by in terms of using ICT devices and services.
MIC will make this appeal before the fiscal 2020 budget bill passes the Diet so that eligible organizations can start their projects as soon as possible. Therefore, it should be kept in mind that the implementation of the projects is subject to the passage of the budget bill and that the contents of the projects are subject to change.
