March 27, 2020 Study Group on Status of Broadband Infrastructure

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold meetings of a study group on the status of broadband infrastructure in light of a report from the Information and Communications Council (December 17, 2019) on an Assessment of State of Competition in Telecommunications Business Field.

1. Purpose

The study group will investigate the status of broadband in light of the findings of the final report of the Assessment of State of Competition in Telecommunications Business Field from the Information and Communications Council (December 17, 2019), that “it is appropriate to establish a study framework to promote specialist and intensive studies centered on institutional aspects” in order to cope with diversifying services, which are essential to people’s lives, that use broadband infrastructure.
