April 3, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Revision of Guidelines for Operation of Article 27-3 of Telecommunications Business Act

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make an appeal for opinions from Friday, April 4 to Friday, May 8, 2020 on the draft revision of the Guidelines for the Operation of Article 27-3 of the Telecommunications Business Act.

1. Overview

MIC’s Guidelines for the Operation of Article 27-3 of the Telecommunications Business Act (hereafter referred to as “the Operation Guidelines”) has been established to show the concrete concept and case examples of the operation of Article 27-3 and relevant provisions of the Telecommunications Business Act (Act No. 86 of 1984).
Recently, MIC has decided to revise the Operation Guidelines to add specific case examples and clarify the rules in the Operation Guidelines.

Period of submission: From Friday, April 4 to no later than Friday, May 8, 2020
The attachments and reference information will be posted on the public comment page of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp/ ). It will also be available for viewing and obtaining copies at the Tariff and Telecommunications Access Policy Division (the 10th floor of the Second Building of the Central Common Government Office) of the Telecommunications Business Department under MIC’s Telecommunications Bureau.

3. Future plans

With consideration of opinions submitted, MIC will promptly revise the Operation Guidelines.
