April 9, 2020 Announcement of Notification Content Concerning the Utilization Business of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (hereafter “NTT East,” headed by President Fukuzo Inoue) has made notification regarding a business (hereafter “utilization business”) under Article 2, Paragraph 5 of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, etc. (Act No. 85 of 1984, hereinafter “the NTT Act”). Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announces the content of the notification.

1. Background

When NTT East intends to conduct any utilization business, it shall notify the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of matters prescribed by Ministerial Ordinance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) in advance according to the provision of Article 2, Paragraph 5 of the NTT Act.
In compliance with this provision, NTT East submitted a written notification of matters prescribed in Article 2-2 of the Rules for Enforcement of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, etc. (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 23 of 1985) on March 31, 2020. Accordingly, MIC announces the content of the notification today based on the provision of Article 2-3 of the Rules for Enforcement of the NTT Act.

2. Date of commencement of business

NTT East sets the commencement date of business to Wednesday, July 1, 2020, in the written notification.

3. Future plans
