April 17, 2020 Request for Strengthening Efforts to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today requested the Telecommunications Carriers Association (Chaired by Jun Sawada) to strengthen efforts to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus infection at dealers’ shops.

With the spread of novel coronavirus infection, there is concern about the spread of infection through contact between employees and customers, especially on sales floors where customer service is required.
During customer service, communications service dealers (sales agents and directly managed shops) often serve customers for a long time. Therefore, there is concern that it may be a factor of the spread of novel coronavirus infection.
In light of the above, MIC has today strengthened the efforts of the Telecommunications Carriers Association to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus infection at its affiliates and dealers’ shops.
