April 23, 2020 Organizing Study Group on Ideal State of Disclosing Sender Information
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will organize a study group on the ideal state of disclosing sender information. The study group will examine how sender information should be disclosed under the Act on the Limitation of Liability for Damages of Specified Telecommunications Service Providers and the Right to Demand Disclosure of Identification Information of the Senders (Act No. 137 of 2001, hereafter referred to as “the Provider Liability Limitation Act”).
1. Purpose
With consideration of an increase of the distribution of information on the Internet, the diversification of services that are the basis of information distribution, and an accompanying increase in the distribution of rights infringement information on the Internet, this study group will examine how to disclose sender information under the Provider Liability Limitation Act.

3. Schedule
The study group will hold the first meeting on Thursday, April 30, 2020, and make an interim report around the summer of 2020, following the subsequent meetings.
