April 24, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on a Draft Partial Amendment to the Notice to Define the Symbols that Indicate Types of Modulation Used by Amateur Radio Stations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drafted a partial amendment to a notice related to the Radio Act to simplify the licensing procedure for amateur radio. Accordingly, MIC will make an appeal for opinions on the draft amendment from Saturday, April 25 through Friday, May 29, 2020.

1. Background and overview

Based on the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (revised version of 2019), MIC made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, January 18 through Monday, February 17, 2020, on a draft amendment to the notice to make partial changes to the frequency allocation plan on a frequency band of amateur radio stations.
With consideration of the opinions received at that time, MIC has drafted a partial amendment to the notice related to the Radio Act for the purpose of simplifying the licensing procedure for newly performing voice and other audio communications in the 1.9 MHz band, and MIC will collect opinions.
