April 28, 2020 Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Change of Interconnection Tariffs Relating to Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of NTT East and NTT West and Repeat Appeal for Opinions
Revisions, including Change of Connection Menu for Network Termination Equipment
The Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council made an appeal for opinions on approval for revisions to the interconnection tariffs relating to category I designated telecommunications facilities (including the change of interconnection fees pertaining to network termination equipment) of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation. As a result, six opinions were submitted.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications at this moment opens the result of the appeal for opinions to the public. In this connection, the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council has decided to make a re-appeal for opinions from Wednesday, April 29 through Thursday, May 14, 2020.
1.Overview
Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation have made an application for approval pertaining to changes in interconnection tariffs for the provision of new network termination equipment that supports 10 Gbit/s interfaces, and to extend the acceptance period for C-20 and C-50 type termination equipment provided by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation.
2.Method for obtaining reference information
MIC will post the submitted opinions on the public comment page of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp ). Also, MIC will make them available for viewing and obtaining copies at MIC’s Tariff and Telecommunications Access Policy Division, Telecommunications Business Department, Telecommunications Bureau (the 10th floor of the Second Building of the Central Common Government Office).
3.Future plans
With consideration of the results of the appeal and re-appeal for opinions, the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council will make study and deliberate the matter and report to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications on the change of the tariffs.
