May 25, 2020 Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Notice for Partial Revision of Standards for Safety and Reliability of Information and Telecommunications Networks
Institutional development for technical standards and relevant conditions in response to the progress of the full-scale software development and virtualization of communications networks, along with maintenance and management measures for communications infrastructures resilient to disasters
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from Thursday, April 9 through Wednesday, May 13, 2020, to revise a part of the standards for safety and reliability of information and telecommunications networks. As a result, five opinions were submitted.
Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the opinions submitted to the public, along with MIC’s view on them.
1. Overview
This notice aims to make necessary revisions to the standards (Notice of MPT No. 73 of 1987) for safety and reliability of information and telecommunications networks with consideration of a partial report from the Information and Communications Council summarizing the results of its study on the technical standards in response to the progress of the full-scale software development and virtualization of communications networks and study on measures to maintain and manage disaster-resistant communication infrastructures.
2. Results of appeal for opinions
MIC made an appeal for opinions from Thursday, April 9 through Wednesday, May 13, 2020, on the revision and received five opinions.
3. Future plans
With consideration of opinions submitted, MIC will promulgate the notice promptly.
