May 29, 2020 Announcement of Results of FY2019 Project to Promote Planning and Promotion Structure Building for Regional IoT Implementation Organizing

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) implemented a project to promote planning and promotion structure building for regional IoT implementation organizing for fiscal 2019, which provided support to six local public entities for the formulation of concrete promotion plans on regional IoT implementation. Accordingly, MIC has decided to announce the results of the project.

1. Overview

Since 2018, MIC has been implementing the project to promote planning and promotion structure building for regional IoT implementation organizing. This project provides support to local public entities for the resolution of specific regional issues by introducing information and communications technology (ICT), e.g., the IoT. So far, such local public entities’ efforts are not making progress due to a lack of sufficient knowledge and know-how. In particular, the project will assist them in formulating plans and the construction of promotion systems for the introduction of regional ICT/IoT.
Recently, MIC summarized the results of the six groups targeted for support in fiscal 2019 and has decided to open the results to the public.
