Partial Report from Information and Communications Council

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council (Chaired by Takeshi Uchiyamada, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Motor Corporation) on Friday, May 29, 2020. This report, which specifies technical requirements for the upgrading of digital cordless telephone radio stations, was issued in partial response to inquiry number 2009 (dated September 30, 2002) about the technical requirements for the upgrading of low-power radio stations.

1. Background

MIC has been studying technical requirements to add the shared eXtended Global Platform (sXGP) frequencies for digital cordless telephone radio stations that do not require licenses. In this connection, MIC received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council on Friday, May 29, 2020. The report, which specifies technical requirements for the upgrading of digital cordless telephone radio stations, was issued as a part of the technical requirements for the upgrading of low-power radio stations.

2. Future plans

MIC will make institutional development promptly with consideration of this partial report.
