June 5, 2020 Unified QR Code, “JPQR” Promotion Project―Announcement of the Operation Start Date of the Online Application Form

  The online application form of the Unified QR Code, “JPQR” Promotion Project will come into operation on June 22, which allows JPQR applications from stores nationwide. In this connection, MIC has decided to announce the schedule of participating payment companies’ availability for the project, along with their participation in the online application form and their Merchant Fee.

MIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), has conducted this demonstration project to promote Unified QR Code and Barcodes (JPQR) which was formulated by Payments Japan Association.
The online application form (PLUG) for JPQR will come into operation on June 22. As a result, from the same day onward, it will be possible to submit JPQR applications from stores nationwide through the website.

    Hokuhoku Pay is the name of Hokuriku Bank’s JPQR payment service as well as that of Hokkaido Bank’s JPQR payment service.
    MIC is still accepting the participation of cashless payment companies, and the status of participants will be updated as needed.
    In the current fiscal year, measures to revitalize consumption will be implemented using the Individual Number Card point system. By promoting JPQR, MIC is planning to increase stores where the Individual Number Card point can be used. For the registration status of cashless payment companies for the Individual Number Card point system, refer to the website of the Individual Number Card point system.
