June 11, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Ministerial Ordinance to Revise Part of Regulations for Radio Operators

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will make an appeal for opinions from Friday, June 12 through Monday, July 13, 2020, on a draft ministerial ordinance that will revise a part of the Regulations for Radio Operators.

1. Overview

With consideration of the additional proposal of the follow-up meeting of a growth strategy roundtable meeting on the effective use of radio waves*, this partial revision will add a new provision to the Regulations for Radio Operators (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Ordinance No. 18 of 1990) concerning radio operators’ obligation to strive to acquire the latest knowledge and technology constantly.

From Friday, June 12 through Monday, July 13, 2020 (Opinions submitted by mail will be accepted if postmarked the same day.)

3. Future plans

With consideration of the results of the appeal for opinions, MIC will proceed promptly with the necessary procedures for the revision of the Regulations for Radio Operators.
