June 16, 2020 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Partial Change of Plan for Available Frequencies Allocated for Core Broadcasting and Report from Radio Regulatory Council

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, April 25 through Friday, May 29, 2020, on a partial change of the Plan for the Available Frequencies Allocated for Core Broadcasting (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Public Notice No. 661 of 1988) and received five opinions. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the submitted opinions to the public, along with MIC’s views on the opinions.
Accordingly, the MIC will make with consideration of the result of the appeal for opinions, MIC submitted today an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chaired by Susumu Yoshida, Specially Appointed Professor, Kyoto University) on the draft ministerial ordinance. Then MIC received a report from the Radio Regulatory Council stating its approval as inquired.

Future plans

MIC will promptly make institutional development for relevant regulations based on the result of opinions submitted and the report from the Radio Regulatory Council.
