June 30, 2020 Permission for Special Mail Business Licenses and Approval for Correspondence Mail Agreements, Special Correspondence Mail Regulations, Etc.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) submitted an inquiry to the Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council (chaired by Kazuteru Tagaya, Professor Emeritus at Chiba University) concerning permission for Higashi Nihon Ace K.K. and two other applicants for special mail business licenses and correspondence mail management regulations, as well as permission for LIFE SERVICE & SECURITY CORPORATION for changes in its correspondence mail management regulations. A reply was received from the Council stating its approval as inquired.
In response to the report, MIC will arrange to grant permission and approval to the applicants today.

With the permission for the three applicants, including Higashi Nihon Ace K.K., the number of special mail business licensees reached 550. Special mail businesses are positioned as businesses that provide a variety of services by responding to the needs of sophisticated and diversifying users and making creative efforts. It is expected that these business operators entering the mail service industry will increase the opportunities for users’ selection range of services.
