June 30, 2020 Holding of PR Ambassador Appointment Ceremony under Unified QR Code, “JPQR” Promotion Project

  Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to hold an appointment ceremony of the Public Relations Ambassador of MIC’s Unified QR Code, “JPQR” Promotion Project to publicize this project through consumers nationwide.

MIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), has conducted this demonstration project to promote Unified QR Code and Barcodes (JPQR), which was formulated by Payments Japan Association. The online application form (PLUG) for JPQR came into operation on June 22.
In this connection, MIC has decided to hold the appointment ceremony of the PR Ambassador of MIC’s Unified QR Code “JPQR” Promotion Project to publicize the project through a wide range of media.

2．Future plans

In addition to broadcasting TV and radio commercials from the end of July, MIC plans to hold JPQR seminars for stores throughout Japan.
