The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) recently drafted a publication entitled Guidelines for Standard Certification of Terminal Devices based on the Telecommunications Business Act (Second Edition).
Accordingly, MIC has decided to make an appeal for opinions on the draft from Thursday, July 2 through Friday, July 31, 2020.

1. Overview

MIC published the Guidelines for Standard Certification of Terminal Devices based on the Telecommunications Business Act (First Edition) on April 22, 2019. This publication was prepared from the viewpoint of clarifying the operation of the standard certification of terminal devices by the provisions of the Ordinance Concerning Terminal Facilities Etc., which has been added with stipulations of security measures for the technical standards of terminal facilities including IoT devices.
To clarify the concept of the certification of terminal devices used in shared eXtended Global Platform (sXGP) digital cordless telephones, MIC drafted the Guidelines for Standard Certification of Terminal Devices based on the Telecommunications Business Act (Second Edition).
