July 10, 2020 Official Announcement about Evaluation Results of FY2019 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage and Results of Appeal for Opinions

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) drafted a report on the evaluation results of a fiscal 2019 survey on actual radio spectrum usage. Accordingly, MIC made an appeal for opinions on the draft from Saturday, May 30 through Monday, June 29, 2020. With consideration of the result of the opinions received, MIC submitted today an inquiry about the appropriateness of the draft to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chaired by Susumu Yoshida, Professor Emeritus, Kyoto University) and received by return a report from the Radio Regulatory Council stating its approval as inquired. Accordingly, MIC has decided to announce the result of the opinions and the report on the evaluation results of the fiscal 2019 survey on actual radio spectrum usage.

1. Result of appeal for opinions

MIC made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, May 30 through Monday, June 29, 2020, on the draft of the report on the evaluation results of a fiscal 2019 survey on actual radio spectrum usage (hereafter referred to as “the evaluation result report”) and received three opinions.

2. Report from Radio Regulatory Council and announcement of evaluation result report

  With consideration of the opinions received on the draft of the evaluation result report, MIC submitted today an inquiry about the appropriateness of the draft to the Radio Regulatory Council and received by return a report from the Radio Regulatory Council stating its approval as inquired.

  MIC announces the evaluation result report in accordance with the provisions of Article 26-2, Paragraph 3 of the Radio Act (Act No. 131 of 1950).

  MIC will post the references for this matter on the public comment page of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp ).
