July 13, 2020 Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report from New-generation Mobile Communications System Subcommittee

Technical requirements for fifth-generation mobile communications system used by various parties according to local and individual needs (local 5G) as part of technical requirements for new-generation mobile communications systems

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications made an appeal for opinions from Wednesday, June 3 through Friday, June 26, 2020, on a draft report of the New-generation Mobile Communications System Subcommittee (Chief Investigator: Hiroyuki Morikawa, Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo) of the Department on Information and Communications Technology under the Information and Communications Council. This report was on the technical requirements for the fifth-generation mobile communications system used by various parties according to local and individual needs (local 5G) as part of the technical requirements for new-generation mobile communications systems.
As a result, 345 opinions were submitted. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the submitted opinions to the public along with the Subcommittee’s views on the opinions.

With consideration of the result of the appeal for opinions, the Department on Information and Communications Technology (chaired by Shojiro Nishio, President of Osaka University) under the Information and Communications Council will deliberate this matter at its next meeting.
