Partial report from Information and Communications Council

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council (Chaired by Takeshi Uchiyamada, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Motor Corporation). This report specifies some of the technical requirements for beam wireless power transmission systems on the premises* as part of technical requirements for beam wireless power transmission systems. The report was issued in partial response to inquiry number 2043 of December 12, 2018.

1. Background

A beam wireless power transmission system transmits power through the transmission and reception of radio waves, and the use of it in a wide range of fields is expected because it can charge or supply power to information and communications equipment without wires connected.
With consideration of these needs, the Council has been deliberating on the technical requirements for beam wireless power transmission systems, as a result of the deliberation, MIC has received a partial report.

2. Future plans

With consideration of the partial report, MIC will promptly make institutional development.
