August 4, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report from Aviation and Maritime Radiocommunication Subcommittee
Reflection of the revision of Annex 10 of the International Civil Aviation Convention in domestic technical standards as one of the technical issues of aviation radio communications
The Aviation and Maritime Radiocommunication Subcommittee (Chief investigator: Shigeru Ozeki, Advisor to Electronic Navigation Research Institute) under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council, has recently drafted a report on the reflection of the revision of Annex 10 of the International Civil Aviation Convention in domestic technical standards. Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will make an appeal for opinions on the draft from Wednesday, August 5 through Thursday, September 3, 2020.

2. Overview
Aviation wireless communications are being effectively used as indispensable communication means for ensuring the safe operation of aircraft. The drafted report summarizes the examination results of the Aviation and Maritime Radiocommunication Subcommittee on the development of domestic technical standards associated with the revision of Annex 10 of the International Civil Aviation Convention at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
3. Submission period
No later than Thursday, September 3, 2020 (Submission of opinions by mail must also arrive no later than the deadline date).
4. Future plans
With consideration of the result of the appeal for opinions, the Aviation and Maritime Radiocommunication Subcommittee will finalize the report.
