August 18, 2020 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Ministerial Ordinance for Partial Revisions to Regulations for Enforcement of Postal Act

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, July 4 through Friday, July 31, 2020, on a draft ministerial ordinance for partial revisions to the Regulations for Enforcement of the Postal Act (MIC ordinance No. 5 of 2003) for the institutional development of the subsidiary business of mail authenticators. As a result, four opinions were submitted. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the opinions to the public, along with MIC’s views on the opinions.

1. Background and overview of the revision

The partial revisions to the Regulations for Enforcement of the Postal Act are to be made to simplify a part of the application procedure for necessary approval from the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications to mail authenticators who intend to do subsidiary business.

2. Future plans

With consideration of the result of the appeal for opinions, MIC will promptly revise the ministerial ordinance.
