August 21, 2020 Decision on Regional Public Entities Supported under FY2020 Project to Promote Planning and Promotion Structure Building for Regional IoT Implementation Organizing (Regional IoT Implementation Type)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) selected the regional public entities specified below to be supported under a project to promote planning and promotion structure building for regional IoT implementation organizing (regional IoT implementation type).

1. Project overview

MIC made a public appeal from Friday, May 29 through Friday, July 31, 2020, for regional public entities to be supported under the project to promote planning and promotion structure building for regional IoT implementation organizing (regional IoT implementation type). To be specific, this project assists regional governments where initiatives to utilize technologies, such as AI and ICT, are not making progress for work efficiency improvements and contribution to work automation and labor-saving. Accordingly, the project provides support to the establishment of a promotion system that will formulate and execute plans, including ICT and IoT solutions for issues and trial calculations of cost-effectiveness, on the implementation of AI and ICT.
