August 21, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Notice on Partial Revisions to Telecommunications Number Plan

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is considering partial revisions to the Telecommunications Number Plan for some areas of Fukuoka Prefecture, i.e., Iizuka City and Kotake Town, Kurate Gun.
Accordingly, MIC has drafted a notice on partial revisions to the Telecommunications Number Plan and will make an appeal for opinions on the draft from Saturday, August 22 through Wednesday, September 23, 2020.

1. Purpose and outline of changes

MIC will partially change the Telecommunications Number Plan (MIC Notification No. 6 of 2019) to unify the area codes* of Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and also to convert the area code of Kotake Town, Kurate Gun into a four-digit area code.
With this change, it will be possible to dial from the local area code when making a call to the entire city of Iizuka.

    An area code indicates a range where local calls are possible. A caller can make a phone call by dialing only the local number between areas with the same area code.

From Saturday, August 22, and no later than Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
(Opinions, if submitted by mail, must arrive no later than the same day.)

With consideration of the result of the appeal for opinions, MIC will partially revise the notice.
