August 28, 2020 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report from Study Group on Standard Fees for Establishing Specific Base Stations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from Tuesday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 29, 2020, on a report that was drafted according to a study recently made by the Study Group on Standard Fees for Establishing Specific Base Stations, and received five opinions. With consideration of the result of the appeal for opinions, the draft was finalized. Accordingly, MIC will open the report, along with the result of the appeal for opinions.

1. Background

For the operation of a system of establishment fees for specified base stations established by the Act for Amending Part of the Radio Act (Act No. 6 of 2019), MIC has been holding the Study Group on Standard Fees for Establishing Specific Base Stations. The purpose of the Study Group is to provide a standard estimate of the economic value of frequencies to assist applicants’ prediction and calculation of a reasonable value for the allocation of frequencies.
The report from the Study Group has been finalized, and MIC has decided to open the final version of the same, entitled the Report from Study Group on Standard Fees for Establishing Specific Base Stations, along with the outline of the report.
Before the compilation of the report, MIC made an appeal for opinions from Tuesday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 29, 2020, on the draft of the report, and received five opinions. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the result of the appeal for opinions to the public.
