August 31, 2020 Unified QR Code, “JPQR” Promotion Project―Addition of Payment Services Participating in Online Application Form

Regarding the Unified QR Code, “JPQR” Promotion Project, eight new services have been added from today as payment services that can be applied from the online application form (PLUG).

1. Online application form (PLUG)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), is conducting this demonstration project to promote Unified QR Code and Barcodes (JPQR) which was formulated by Payments Japan Association. On June 22 of this year, MIC and METI started operating the online application form (PLUG) to enable JPQR applications from stores nationwide.

2. Added payment services

The payment services specified below have been added today, for which applicants can apply through PLUG. Only Japanese reference information is available on the JPQR availability and PLUG participation schedule, merchants’ transaction fee, etc. of each PLUG participating payment service.

    Only stores who apply newly will start accepting applications.

    Hokuhoku Pay is the name of Hokuriku Bank’s JPQR payment service, as well as that of Hokkaido Bank’s JPQR payment service.
