September 7, 2020 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Notices for Partial Revision of Matters that Determine Syllabus of Training Course for Chief Telecommunications Engineers

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make an appeal for opinions from September 8, 2020, through October 7, 2020, on notices that will partially revise the matters of determining the syllabus of chief telecommunications engineers’ training course.

1. Overview

The Ministerial Ordinance for the Partial Revision of the Regulations for Chief Telecommunications Engineer (Ministerial Ordinance of MIC No. 85 of 2020) has been promulgated today. This promulgation will revise telecommunications-related institutions, including the Regulations for Chief Telecommunications Engineer (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 27 of 1985) and the Rules for Installation Technician (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 28 of 1985). MIC plans to make necessary revisions to relevant notices.

2. Appeal for opinions

1.Subject

  • Draft notice that partially revises MPT Notice No. 232 of 1985
    (Determining the syllabus of chief telecommunications engineers’ training course)
  • Draft notice that partially revises MPT Notice No. 346 of 2009
    (Determining the method of conducting the final examination of telecommunications chief engineers’ training course)
  • Draft notice that partially revises MPT Notice No. 225 of 1985
    (Determining the syllabus of installation technician’s training course)
  • Draft notice that partially revises MPT Notice No. 226 of 1985
    (Determining the method of conducting the final examination of installation technician’s training course)
  • Draft notice that partially revises MPT Notice No. 230 of 1999
    (Determining the criteria for the accreditation of installation technician schools)

2.Period of submission

From September 8 and no later than October 7, 2020 (Submission of opinions by mail must also arrive no later than the deadline date).

MIC will post these draft notices on the public comment page of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp/en/ Open a new window).

3. Future plans

With consideration of opinions received, MIC will promptly revise the notices.
