January 15, 2021 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Notice on Partial Revisions to Telecommunications Number Plan

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drafted a notice on partial revisions to the Telecommunications Number Plan. Accordingly, MIC will make an appeal for opinions on the draft from Saturday, January 16 through Monday, February 15, 2021.

1. Background and overview of institutional development

With consideration of the revision of the Order for Enforcement of the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds (Ministerial Ordinance No. 3 of the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism), which was promulgated on December 28, 2020, the subject draft notice aims to revise the Telecommunications Number Plan (MIC Notification No. 6 of 2019).

From Saturday, January 16 and no later than Monday, February 15, 2021 (Opinions, if submitted by mail, must arrive no later than the deadline date.)

MIC will revise the notice with consideration of the results of the appeal for opinions.
