January 22, 2021 Approval to Business Rules for Telephone Relay Service Support

The Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications has today approved the application of Telecommunications Carriers Association, an organization for telephone relay service support, for the business rules for telephone relay service support. This application had been made pursuant to the provisions of Article 22, Paragraph 1 of the Act on Facilitating the Use of Telephones by the Hearing Impaired, etc. (Act No. 53 of 2020).

Telecommunications Carriers Association (Chaired by MIYAUCHI Ken) applied to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications on Friday, January 15, 2021, to approve the business rules for telephone relay service support. The application was made under the provisions of Article 22, Paragraph 1 of the Act on Facilitating the Use of Telephones by the Hearing Impaired, etc. (Act No. 53 of 2020).
The conformance of the rules to each item of Paragraph 2 of the same Article was confirmed. Furthermore, it was recognized that the rules included the matters specified in each item of Article 15 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Act on Facilitating the Use of Telephones by the Hearing Impaired, etc. (MIC Ordinance No.110 of 2021).
Accordingly, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications has today approved the business rules for telephone relay service support based on Article 22, Paragraph 1 of the Act.
