January 27, 2021 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Revision to Notice Specifying Range of Available Frequencies for Specified Experimental Stations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) decided to review the range of available frequencies and pertinent conditions for specified experimental stations according to Article 7, Item (v) of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act (Radio Regulatory Commission Rules No. 14 of 1950) and drafted a revised revision. Accordingly, MIC made an appeal for opinions on the draft from Tuesday, December 1, 2020, through Tuesday, January 12, 2021. As a result, no opinions were submitted.

1. Background

A study subcommittee on utilization measures for broadcast frequencies (hereafter referred to as the “Frequency Subcommittee”) issued a report entitled Summary of V-High Band Utilization Measures in April 2019. Considering the report, MIC announced a frequency band, ranging from 207.5 MHz to 222 MHz, valid up to March 31, 2021, for specified experimental stations under MIC’s ordinance No. 85 of 2019.
In response to the fact that a policy to extend the demonstration period was announced at the Frequency Subcommittee’s meeting held on Friday, November 27, 2020, MIC made this appeal for opinions from Tuesday, December 1, 2020, through Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

2. Result of appeal for opinions

MIC made this appeal for opinions on the draft notice from Tuesday, December 1, 2020, through Tuesday, January 12, 2021. As a result, no opinions were submitted.

3. Future plans

Considering the result of the appeal for opinions, MIC will promptly revise the Notice.
