October 26, 2021 November is Telework Month

Intensive public relations to promote the spread of telework

The Telework Promotion Forum, organized in November 2005 as an industry-academia-government telework promotion organization at the call of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), has set November for Telework Month since 2015. Accordingly, these organizations have been intensively conducting public relations activities to promote the spread of telework.

In cooperation with related ministries, agencies, and organizations, MIC will select and commend companies making pioneering efforts in telework and hold a debriefing session on the implementation of Telework Days during Telework Month.
In light of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, telework, which allows work to continue while reducing human contact, has become more important than ever from the perspective of preventing the spread of infection and balancing economic activities. MIC will also take the opportunity of Telework Month to call for the active use once again of telework throughout Japan.
As one of the initiatives for Telework Month, MIC, together with MHLW, METI, MLIT, the Cabinet Secretariat, and the Cabinet Office, will issue a request for cooperation for Telework Month to prefectures, government-designated cities, economic organizations, etc.
For Telework Month, MIC is looking for individuals and companies that are conducting activities related to telework. If you register your activities on the Telework Month website, your company name and the details of your efforts will be displayed on the website. MIC looks forward to your active registration.
