October 28, 2021 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Change of Interconnection Tariff for Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of NTT East and West and Re-appeal for Opinions

Addition of a connection menu, including a menu item related to subscriber optical fiber lines

The Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, September 25 through Monday, October 25, 2021 concerning authorization for a change of the interconnection tariff (i.e., additional connection menu items, including those related to subscriber optical fiber lines). This interconnection tariff was on category I designated telecommunications facilities of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation. As a result, seven opinions were submitted.
In this connection, the result of the appeal for opinions will be open to the public, and a re-appeal will be made for opinions from Friday, October 29 through Thursday, November 11, 2021.

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation applied for authorization to change the interconnection tariff due to the addition of a new connection menu item (i.e., connections of specified optical signal terminal lines) related to subscriber optical fiber lines.

4. Future plans

The Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council plans to make an appeal for opinions again with consideration of received opinions for this re-appeal. Then the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council will conduct investigations and deliberations based on the results and make a report to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications.
