November 24, 2021 Results of FY2021 Public Appeal related to Innovation Program

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has selected challengers to tackle disruptive challenges under an innovation program. This program supports amazing and ambitious technical challenges with a high possibility of creating value in the ICT field and their global deployment for disruptive value creation that is unpredictable to artificial intelligence. In addition, MIC will hold an Open Innovation 2021 event to transmit the initiatives of this program on a global scale.

MIC has been implementing the innovation program since fiscal 2014 to support “eccentric people” working on totally unexpected challenges and ambitious technical issues with no fear of failure. This program supports the “challenge” of disruptive ICT innovation and its global deployment to create new value for the post-Corona future society.
KADOKAWA ASCII Research Laboratories, Inc., the implementing organization of this program for fiscal 2021, made a public appeal for applications from Tuesday, June 1 through Monday, August 2, 2021, and selected the successful applicants for the disruptive challenges. Furthermore, to disseminate the initiatives of the innovation program on a global scale, the Open Innovation 2021 event will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. The event will be streamed live on YouTube and other media.
