November 26, 2021 Appeal for Opinions on Drafted Partial Amendment to Support Standards for the Fund Corporation for the Overseas Development of Japan’s ICT and Postal Services (MIC Notice No. 412, 2015)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) conducted a review of the Act on the Fund Corporation for the Overseas Development of Japan’s ICT and Postal Services (Act No. 35 of 2015) in accordance with Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the Supplementary Provisions, five years after it came into effect. As a result, it has become necessary to add support targets to the Support Standards for the Fund Corporation for the Overseas Development of Japan’s ICT and Postal Services (MIC Notice No. 412, 2015). Accordingly, MIC has drafted a partial amendment to the same.
Therefore, MIC has will make an appeal for opinions on the proposed partial amendment from Saturday, November 27 through Monday, December 27, 2021, as described below.

1. Target of appeal for opinions

Drafted Partial Amendment to Support Standards for the Fund Corporation for the Overseas Development of Japan’s ICT and Postal Services (MIC Notice No. 412, 2015) (hereafter referred to as the “Support Standards”) (Old and New Tables)

2. Outline of appeal for opinions

MIC conducted a review of the Act on the Fund Corporation for the Overseas Development of Japan’s ICT and Postal Services (Act No. 35 of 2015, hereafter referred to as the Act) in accordance with Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the Supplementary Provisions, five years after the Act came into effect. This review has decided to support ICT service businesses that do not involve the development of hard infrastructure, which are currently not covered by the support criteria, and promote LP* investment in funds. In response, MIC has drafted the partial amendment to the Support Standards and decided to accept opinions on the draft from Saturday, November 27 through Monday, December 27, 2021.
