December 8, 2021 Ideal State of Telecommunications Number System to Create Diversified Services in Digital Society

Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has received a report from the Information and Communications Council (Chaired by UCHIYAMADA Takeshi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Motor Corporation). This report was made in response to inquiry No. 1232, dated May 19, 2021, on the ideal state of the telecommunications number system to create diversified services in the digital society.

1. Background

This report was made in response to an inquiry of May, 2021, made to the Information and Telecommunications Council. The report was issued with consideration of the results of investigations and deliberations of the Telecommunications Business Policy Committee and the Telecommunications Number Policy Subcommittee of the Information and Telecommunications Council, as well as the results of a public appeal for opinions, concerning the ideal state of the telecommunications number system to create diversified services in the digital society.
